Where it all Began

Currently, Arizona Tile has locations throughout 10 western states, but it all began in 1977 with one small store in San Diego, California. That year, John Huarte began a new chapter of his career after 10 years of playing both collegiate and professional football. Inspired by his brother, who was in ceramic tile distribution, John and his wife, Eileen, founded Arizona Tile. When they opened their doors, the business was well-received and began to grow. So much so that when Huarte moved to Arizona one year later, he opened another store. Over the years he was able to build several more branches and further develop his concept. Currently, there are locations all throughout the Western United States in Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Texas, Utah, and Washington.

Along the way, Arizona Tile didn’t only build a strong customer base but built beneficial relationships with their supply partners. Because of these relationships and having a valued reputation, Arizona Tile was able to expand its product offering, creating an even more impactful and satisfying customer experience.

Fast forward through the ’80s, ’90s, and 2000s, all the way to today, and it’s evident that Arizona Tile has flourished through each decade while remaining a family-owned and operated business.

The Team

Arizona Tile wouldn’t be a leader in the industry without a valuable team of employees. There is even an Online Slab Yard so you can view natural stone selections at the location near you from the comfort of your own home.
