Green construction is one of the biggest trends in residential and commercial building design. But it’s more than a trend – it’s a way of life that benefits everyone. Many people wonder if slab and tile are considered environmentally friendly choices. The answer is yes!
Using products that are durable and long-lasting, like natural stone slabs and tiles made of natural stone, don’t need to be replaced often, therefore resulting in less waste over time – less production waste and less landfill waste. It’s a smart choice. Arizona Tile offers over 230 varieties of natural stone slabs and tiles consisting of granite, marble, limestone, travertine, slate, quartzite and onyx.
While natural stone slabs and tiles don’t contain recycled materials, many other choices in slab and tile do use pre-consumer and post-consumer recycling in the manufacturing process. Though most of our green products contain pre-consumer recycled materials, a few are made with both pre- and post-consumer recycled content.
We carry over 25 products that are made with some percentage of recycled material. Some examples include:
- Dome Sculptur Series is a porcelain tile that uses more than 40% pre-consumer recycled content.
- Samsung Radianz Quartz slabs are manufactured using an environmentally sustainable process and seven colors in the series are made using certified recycled content.
- Metalwood Series is a rectified color body porcelain that uses up to 65% pre-consumer recycled content.
