Commercial Highlight – Horizons

While we tend to focus on residential projects on our blog, we decided it’s high time that On the Surface highlights a commercial project featuring our products. Today we are focusing on a recent restoration project undertaken by Apex Contracting and Restoration in San Diego, California.

In October of 2012, under the design direction of Marshall Micheli, Apex began cladding the Horizons downtown condominiums in San Diego located at 555 Front Street in the Marina District. Bob Shuford, Architectural Sales Representative at Arizona Tile, helped spec the 8,000 square feet of polished 3 cm Kashmir White Granite and 800 square feet of Flamed Kashmir White Granite needed to complete the project.

The building was built in 2001 but because the original caulking had plasticizers that stained the original cladding, Apex is replacing the caulking and the cladding on the two 25-story units.

Expected completion date is March 2013.
