Today we’re thrilled to feature Lisa Manka, a wildly successful interior designer with 20 years of experience in commercial interior design. Her business, Manka Interior Design, is a full-service design firm that offers space planning, construction drawings, permit processing, and construction management.

Lisa is known and sought out for utilizing current trends while creating timeless designs. She’s meticulous about working closely with clients to achieve their vision and branding and stays in close communication with the construction team to see projects through to completion.

The Project

Lisa recently worked on the installation of The Crafted Scone, a commercial bakery/coffee shop in Temecula, California. Drawing from the direction of her client regarding the finishes she wanted and the overall look and vision she was hoping to achieve for her shop, Lisa brought the finished product together beautifully using a variety of Arizona Tile products for the countertops, tabletops, backsplash, floors, and walls.

Countertops

For the commercial countertop at The Crafted Scone, Lisa used Portofino Classico Honed Quartz. This stunning white quartz countertop serves multiple purposes. It makes a gorgeous visual statement by providing a modern yet classic look. It’s extremely durable for all the wear and tear that occurs daily at a café. Plus, her client preferred the honed finish for the quartz because when she photographs her pastry case with daily offerings, there is no glare from the quartz finish. This commercial quartz countertop is a winning choice all around!

Backsplash

Concerto White Glossy & Matte porcelain tile were installed together to create a unique and eye-catching design for the backsplash. Lisa told us this herringbone white tile backsplash took a great deal of planning, was labor intensive, and a splurge for the budget. But the design decision was made knowing it would make an enormous impact on the aesthetics and it certainly paid off!

Accent Wall & Tabletops

As with the countertops, Portofino Classico Honed Quartz was used for the café’s tabletops, creating a warm, chic, cohesive environment throughout the entire space. And, of course, this white quartz tabletop is highly durable, as it can stand up to any food and beverages that will inevitably get on it day after day.

Additionally, an accent wall was installed in the seating area of the café to add more visual interest and creative flair. Geo 2 Bisou Sunset Hex Mesh was used, resulting in a chic glass tile accent wall that grabs attention.

Walls & Floors

Lisa also used Arizona Tile products for the installation of the café’s bathroom walls and floor. Cemento Cassero Bianco was selected for the porcelain wall tile in the bathroom, while Reverie 11 was used for the porcelain tile flooring. This fresh combination of a classic white tile for the wall with a patterned bathroom floor tile delivers a clean, rich look and beautiful design in a space that could otherwise be non-descript and lacking visual personality.
