Project Background
This project was a new build, semi-custom spec, single family home in the Arcadia area. Since it was semi-custom spec, the client was allowed to choose products that reflected their design preferences, while also being part of the builder’s plan. In this case, they desired a modern farmhouse, meshing the feel of a more traditional farmhouse with updated and streamlined interior design elements.
Quartz Kitchen
In the kitchen, Todd’s client chose Bianco Levanto (Della Terra® Quartz) for the backsplash and counters. This is a very bold quartz that perfectly complements a contemporary style. The counters provided a level of contrast against the white cabinets that are widely sought in modern homes. Overall, the countertops injected a sense of modernity to the home, aiding the contemporary farmhouse design.
Marble Master Bathroom
For the master bathroom, Todd and his client decided to go for a luxurious look. In this case, marble countertops were perfect for the job. Using Bianco Carrara Marble Counters, he worked to create what he calls a “high-end spa-like atmosphere.” He also used Calacatta Gris Honed and the CS-Calcatta Gris Honed Hex marble for the bathroom and shower floor, respectively. Paired with the bathroom fixtures, this rounded out the room perfectly.
Porcelain Guest Bathroom
For the guest bathroom, Todd and his client wanted to continue the modern feel while also adding more texture to the space. This would give it a unique feel apart from the master bathroom. He used the same countertops as the master bathroom– Bianco Carrara– while also adding in different tile sets. The bathroom floor used Tru Marmi Silver Matte porcelain tile, while the shower floor boasts Paloma Cotton Bevel Glossy ceramic tile. The shower tile adds the desired texture and contrasts the flooring well. It also complements the bathroom fixtures, leaving a satisfying end result.
