When we talked about the hot new color trends back in March, it may have been hard to imagine the new colors hitting the stores because the new colors were so different from what was hot last year. 2014 ushered in many soothing colors – gray, dove, clay, pale green – and they made a huge impact on tile. These calming colors were exactly what people want in their home to create a peaceful oasis.

It is ironic that one of the hottest trends this year, especially in the areas where Arizona Tile stores are located, are the new colors in the classic Mexican Tile looks that have been popular for hundreds of years. These classic tiles usually feature bold earth tones – terracotta, blue, yellow and white. These tiles never go out of fashion. Some may love the look of hand-painted tiles but feel they are too bold to live with every day.

With these new 2014 colors, the reds, blues and yellows we have come to expect were replaced with brown, beige, cream, gray-blue, and pale mustard — and the results are striking!
