Dolomite White is a Dolomitic rock and is one of the most dense forms of white marble. It has subtle, white linear veining that gracefully accentuates its white background, giving the material an elegant appeal. Dolomite White is quarried from a Bedrock quarry on an island off the coast of Turkey then blocks are moved to the factory on the mainland for processing. It is very durable and suitable for a wide variety of installations.
When installing Dolomite White you must use a white thin-set. Using grey thinset will leave trowel lines and could stain the material. It’s possible for this white stone to have tiny pinholes or small white spots that look like stun marks. These white spots happen naturally within the stone and are inherent to most white dolomites. Due to the porous nature of this stone, it requires 3 to 5 coats of sealer to be fully sealed.
Piece to piece variation in shade or color are inherent in all-natural stone products; therefore, when installing natural stone tile, it is recommended to mix tiles from several boxes at a time during installation to achieve the best range of color. As natural stone products, it is recommended that these be sealed to extend their longevity.
